Not close to what it use to be Johnston and Murphy dress shoes were originally manufactured in Nashville, Tennessee. However, in the early 2000’s Genesco which owns Johnston and Murphy closed the Tennessee plants and moved production to Mexico. Some of the early models made in Mexico appeared to use the same material as when the shoes were made in the United States.
