I hadn’t bought a pair of shoes like these since 2002 I bought these at an Allen Edmonds store, not from Amazon. Some reviewers, both ont he AE site and here, complain about the fit of the shoe. A simple solution exists to that: go to a store and get them fit properly by a salesman. Don’t buy them online and then complain if your normal size doesn’t fit properly.
Allen Edmonds’ makes terrific shoes This shoe is great looking and fits as expected. It works with a suit (sport jacket) or with jeans. I’m very pleased with the purchase.
these run small relative to AE cap toes These run small! Small relative to ther Allen Edmonds.. In a cap toe, I comfortably wear a 10.5 d. So, I got 10.5 d with this loafer. It’s definitely too small. At least half a size.. Don’t understand why, but it’s true. I haven’t returned these for a different size yet, but I’d recommend a half size larger than your ordinary Allen Edmonds cap toe size, but a half size increase may not be enough. I think it will be. Hope this helps.
